People living with Tinnitus

Tinnitus Management

Tinnitus is the medical term for sounds that people hear with no obvious source.

Our experienced hearing therapist offers Tinnitus Retraining Therapy, which helps to minimise the perception of these sounds, making them less intrusive

The therapy is based on the emotional and nervous systems being mostly responsible for the disturbance caused by Tinnitus, while the auditory system is less important.  The brain is capable of habituating to any neutral sound, once negative associations with the sound are diminished.  The aim, therefore, is to enable people to be less aware of their Tinnitus and less bothered by it when they do hear it.
