One to One Support

Support for Life

For the signing community we offer practical and emotional support and advocacy on a one-to-one basis, helping you to live independently– and get the best out of later life.  At JDA you will find a skilled Support Worker you can trust, who will offer access to clear information, communication support, interpreting, transport and befriending.

Our approachable, friendly and highly skilled support workers are here to help.

See below for a list of what we can help you with and book an appointment today: Our opening hours are Monday – Thursday 9.30 am – 5 pm.

Health

  • Arranging interpreters for medical appointments.
  • Accompaniment and transport to hospital, GP, optician, dentistry, chiropody appointments.
  • In hospital: visiting, communicating with medical staff and keeping family in touch.
  • Monitoring of medication, treatment and dietary regimes.
  • Organising nurses or care at home.

General

  • Personalised support to alleviate isolation and exclusion in later life
  • ​Help with financial and legal matters and other official paperwork.
  • Phone calls, appointments, dealing with utility companies.
  • Shopping and nutritional advice.
  • Help with keeping you safe at home and elsewhere.
  • Arranging transport.
  • Wills and Power of Attorney.
