Day Centre Talk: Fraud and Scams

Fraud and Scams by Helen Nicolaou from Age UK

Older people are often victims of scams. The financial and health impacts can be devastating.

Some older people are especially at risk, either because scammers target them — for example if they are Deaf, lonely, unworldly or vulnerable.

At JDA, we know Deaf people who have given away their savings to criminals — not realising that they are victims of a scam.

In this important talk, Helen Nicolaou will show you how to spot a fraud.

If someone comes to your door, or you receive a letter that you have won a prize, or someone asks you for money on the internet… they might be trying to scam you out of your money. After today, you will have a better idea of how to protect yourself.
